Get your Gas Appliances Check Regularly for Safety
How often should the owner security check be performed? If you are a tenant, you must perform a gas safety check
once a year. If you have had one recently, the next exam should be done within
12 months. It is also mandatory to have the gas certificate done every time the
house is rented.

The procedure for obtaining a gas compliance certificate:
To become certified, you must first select a qualified
Registered Engineer to perform the verification and then make an appointment
with him. The engineer will thoroughly inspect all the gas appliances and
accessories in your home, will also examine the pipes for leaks and make sure
they are in optimal condition. Try London Property Inspections for Gas Safety Certificate at low cost.
Who is a Registered Engineer?
Not all gas engineers are qualified to perform gas safety
controls. Before checking your gas connections, you should check the gas safety
log, which lists all persons authorized to perform safety checks.
A recognized gas engineer on the list has a Gas Safe ID
card. So the first thing to do before inspection is to check the engineer's ID
card to make sure it is properly qualified.
After verifying all equipment and accessories, the engineer
will provide you with a copy of the Gas Safety Registration Form that will
contain the result of the verification performed.
You must also provide a copy of the certificate to your
tenant. For tenants who are about to move house, they must have their copy
before moving.
For tenants who are already staying at an accommodation,
they must receive their copy within 28 days of the gas security verification.
